SHIVAJI MAHARAJ IS RIGHTLY CALLED THE ‘FATHER OF THE INDIAN NAVY’.
- The attacks of the English, Portuguese, Siddis, and Dutch were stopped because Shivaji Maharaj built the Maratha Navy.
- Shivaji Maharaj set up an independent and strong navy. He did this to define the territorial waters, establish control over the coastal area, and protect it.
