## Measurement of Length Class 3 Worksheet

Measurement of Length Class 3 Worksheet for the students of State / CBSE /ICSE Students by online-shiksha.com

## Metre:-

The standard unit of measuring length is metre we express it as m.

## Centimeter:-

The smaller unit of measuring length is centimeter and expresses it as CM

Example: – the length of pencil measured in centimeter and 1 metre = 100 cm

## Kilometer:-

The biggest unit of measuring length is kilometer and it is expressed as KM. and 1 KM = 1000 metre.

Example: – the distance between two cities is measured in kilometer.

## Conversions

### Conversion of metre into centimeter

4 metre =……………….cm

As we know that 1 metre = 100 cm

4 metre = 4 * 100 = 400 cm

Note: – To convert metre [m] into centimeter [cm], multiply the number of meter by 100.

### Conversion of kilometer into metre

8 kilometer =  ………………….m

As we know that 1 kilometer = 1000 metre ,

9 km = 9 * 1000 =  9000 m

Note :- To convert  kilometer [km] into meter [m] , multiply the number of kilometer by 1000.

### Conversion of metre and centimeter into cm

3m 5 cm = ………. cm

As we know 1 m = 100 cm

So, 3m = 3 * 100 = 300 = 300 cm

3m 5 cm = 300 + 5 = 305 cm

### Conversion of km and m into m

5 km 50 m

1 km = 1000 m

5 km = 5*1000 = 5000 m

5 km 50 m = 5000m + 50 m = 5050 m

### Conversion of CM into M

500 cm = ……….m

As we know that 100 cm = 1 m

500 cm = [ 500 /100] =5 m

Note :- To convert  centimeter [cm] into meter [m] , divide the number of cm  by 100.

### Conversion of m into km

8000 m = ………….km

As we know that 1000 m = 1 km

So, 8000 m = [8000 / 1000 ] = 8 km

Note :- To convert  metre [m] into kilometer [km] , divide the number of m  by 1000.
