Important National Days celebrated in India

National Youth Day (India) – 12th Jan

This day is celebrated on 12 January tohonour the birthday of Swami Vivekananda.He is a well known and inspiring personality both in india and america in 19th and early 20th century. He suddenly come into fame when he represented hinduism in chicago in 1893. He has a depth kknowledge of eastern and western culture as well as brilliant conversation attract the many americans who came in contact with him.

In 1984 the Government of India declared this day as National Youth Day and since from 1985 the event is celebrated in India every year.

Army Day (India) – 15th Jan

This day is celebrated because on this day General KM Cariappa became the first Indian to take charge of the Indian Army in 1949.

National Voters Day (India) [25th Jan]

To encourage young people to vote for our country, GOI has decided to celebrate this day on 25th jan.

Republic Day (India) [26th Jan]

It is a also a national festival of India , on this day our country became republic and has its own constitution.

National Science Day (India) [28th Feb]

This day is celebrated to mark the discovery of Raman Effect scattering of photons by matter, by Indian physicist Sir C. V. Raman on 28 February 1928. For his discovery, Sir C.V. Raman was awarded the Nobel Prize in Physics in 1930.
