ANS – A habitat is an environment in which organisms live. The organisms rely on their habitat for food, water, air, shelter, and other necessities.

 

Q. How are cactus adapted to survive in a desert?

ANS – Plants in the desert, such as cactus, lose very little water by transpiration. Desert plants have leaves that are either absent, very small, or in the form of spines. A stem is a leaf-like structure that you see on a cactus. The stem of a cactus plant is usually responsible for photosynthesis. ANS – All living things share some common characteristics. They all require food, breathe, respond to stimuli, reproduce, move, grow, and die.

 

Q. Explain, why speed is important for survival in the grasslands for animals that live there. (Hint: There are few trees or places for animals to hide in grassland habitats.)

ANS – There are so many trees, plants, or places for animals to hide in grassland habitats. When predators attack they can run fast and hide from them that is the reason speed is more important in such a habitat.
