There are six main organs of the UN:
General Assembly, Security Council, Economic and Social Council, Trusteeship Council, International Court of Justice, and Secretariat.
- General Assembly – The main function of the Assembly is to establish peace and security in the world.
- Security Council – Ensures international peace and security
- Economic and Social Council – promotes economic growth and social progress.
- Trusteeship Council – aided in the formation of self-government.
- International Court of justice – resolves disputes between countries in accordance with international law
- Secretariat – The Secretariat is responsible for the UN’s day-to-day operations.
