How to read a 3-digit number

First read the hundred places then read the tens place and then read the ones place

For example :-

Hundred Tens Ones
1 7 5

 

The number name of 175 is one hundred seventy five.

 

Fill in the blanks

78 ones = …………tens + ………… ones

16 tens = …………hundred + ……….tens + ………ones

 

What is place value?

The place value is the value of the place of a digit

 

What is face value?

The face value of a digit is the value of digit itself

 

Write the standard form of the given expanded form.

100 + 70 + 9  =

1 Hundred + 40 =

1 hundred + 3 tens + 2 ones =

 

Comparing numbers

 

3-digit number is 123

Two-digit number 99

123 is greater than 99

 

Conclusion :- Three-digit numbers are always greater than two-digit numbers.

 

Order of number

Numbers written from smallest to largest are said to be in increasing order.

Example – 10 , 12 , 13 , 14

 

Numbers written from largest to smallest are said to be in decreasing order.

Example – 10 , 9 , 8 , 7

 

Arrange the following numbers in the increasing order ?

68 , 62 , 65 = 62 , 65 , 68

197 , 179 , 190 = 179 , 190 , 197

 

Arrange the following numbers in the decreasing order ?
