Distinguish between the followings.

(i) Agro-based and mineral based industry
Agro-based Industry:
These industries use plant and animal-based products as their primary raw materials.
Examples include food processing, vegetable oil, cotton textile, dairy products, and leather industries.
Raw materials are typically derived from agriculture and related activities.
The output of agro-based industries often has a direct connection to agricultural products.

Mineral-based Industry:
These industries use mineral ores as their primary raw materials.
Examples include the iron and steel industry, cement industry, and other mineral processing industries.
Mineral-based industries rely on the extraction and processing of minerals such as iron ore, limestone, and coal.
The products of mineral-based industries are often used as inputs for various other industries.

 

(ii) Public sector and joint sector industry.

Public Sector Industry:
Public sector industries are owned and operated by the government or a government entity.
They are typically funded and managed by the government to serve public or national interests.
Examples include – Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) in India.In these industries, the government has full ownership and control.

Joint Sector Industry:
Joint sector industries are owned and operated by both the state and private individuals or groups.They represent a partnership between the government and private investors.
An example is Maruti Udyog Limited in India, where the government and a private company jointly own and operate the industry.
Joint sector industries allow for a shared ownership and management structure, combining public and private interests.
