Write short note on-
 First generation computer:
Hardware consisted of vacuum tubes.
The machine language was used.
Univac and ENIAC are examples
Second generation computers:
Hardware consisted of transistors.
It was written in assembly and used some high-level languages, such as FORTRAN and COBOL.
IBM 1620 and IBM 7094 are examples.
Â
Third Generation Computer: –
Computers of the third generation have the following characteristics:
Integrated circuits replaced transistors.
Computers of this generation were smaller, more reliable, less expensive, and faster than earlier generations.
This generation used high level languages.
In the third generation, monitors and keyboards were introduced as input and output devices.
Fourth Generation Computers
In the early 1950s, microprocessors enabled the creation of small, portable computers.
Keyboards, mice, scanners, monitors, and printers became more refined as input and output devices.
