Shanaya has 120 pens costing Rs. 2400. Rohan bought 9 dozen pens from him. How much amount did Rohan pay to Shanaya?

  1. Rs. 2060
  2. Rs. 2960
  3. Rs. 2160
  4. Rs. 1360

Solution:-

  • 120 pens cost 2400
  • 1 pen cost 2400/120 = 20
  • 1 dozen = 12
  • So 9 dozen = 12 * 9 = 108
  • 108 pens cost = 108 * 20 = 2160

Manya earns Rs. 22,098 in a month. Every month she spends Rs. 18,026 and saves the rest. How much will she save in 3 years?

  1. Rs. 21,728
  2. Rs. 1,20,728
  3. Rs. 1,46,592
  4. Rs. 1,21,728

Solution:-

  • Monthly earning = 22098
  • Spends  = 18026
  • Saving = earning – spent amt – 22098-18026 = 4072
  • 1 year saving = 4072 x 12 = 48864
  • 3 year saving = 48864 x 3 = 146592

Manya can only pack 16 apples into a box. If there are 560 apples to be packed, how many boxes of apples will be there?

  1. 35
  2. 15
  3. 45
  4. 25

Solution:-

  • 1 box = 16 apples
  • 560 apples = ? boxes
  • So 560/16 = 35

1st class students are going on a field trip. In each of the 2 vans, there will be 7 children and 1 adult. In each of the 4 cars, there will be 4 children and 1 adult. How many people are going on a field trip?

  1. 17
  2. 30
  3. 36
  4. 38

Solution:-

  • 1 Van = 7 + 1 = 8 Persons
  • 2 Van = 8 X 2 = 16 Persons
  • 1 Car = 4 + 1 = 5 Persons
  • 4 Cars = 4 X 4 = 20 Persons
  • Total Persons = 16 + 20 = 36

Pia started doing her homework at 15:44. She completed her homework at 20:12.How long did she take to complete her homework?

  1. 4 hrs 28 mins
  2. 4 hrs 32 mins
  3. 5 hrs 28 mins
  4. 5 hrs 32 mins

Solution:-

Subtract  15.44 from 20.12  = 4 hrs 28 mins

Himanshu had 80 kg 750 g of rice. He packed the rice into 12 packets, each weighing 5 kg 600 g. How much rice was left unpacked?

  1. 7 kg 200 g
  2. 13 kg 550 g
  3. 12 kg 950 g
  4. 13 kg 950 g

Solution:-

  • 1 packet weight is 5 kg 600 gram means 5600 grams
  • 12 packet weight 67200 grams means 67 kg 200 gms
  • 80 kg 750 gram – 67 kg 200 grams = 13 kg 550 gm

In a school library, there are 635 books on Maths 432 on Hindi 728 on English and 543 on science books, and 120 books on GK. How many total books are there?

Solutions:-

  • Add all the book qty
  • 635 + 432 + 543 + 120 = 1730

Two cars were sold one for rupees 185 625 and the other for rupees 193250. What is the total cost of the two cars?
