England became very powerful by taking over India, Sri Lanka, Myanmar, and other places. They also fought with China over trade.
Many European countries competed to take African land. They divided Africa among themselves in a meeting called the Berlin Conference.

Countries wanted more money and power, which caused tension.
Many countries built big armies, making others worried and do the same.
Secret deals between countries made things worse.
Everyone wanted to be proud of their own country, which led to fights.
Newspapers said bad things about other countries, making people angry.
Some people believed that war was good and important.

 

Q- Mention the effects of the First World War.

Many people died or got hurt, and many things got destroyed.
Women had to work more because many men were fighting.
Countries made a treaty to punish the losers, which made them angry.
Many people wanted revenge, so they started the Second World War.

Russian Revolution

The Russian Revolution was when Russian people got angry at their leader, the Czar, and fought against him.
They wanted to change the government to a socialist one, led by Lenin.
This made Russia very different and led to the Soviet Union.

 

The Events of the First World War

The First World War started because a prince was killed, and many countries fought each other.
Many countries joined different sides, and there were big battles.
America joined later and helped the winning side.
The war ended with a treaty that made one side very unhappy.

 

Aims of the League of Nations

The League of Nations was made after the First World War to stop any more wars.
It wanted countries to talk instead of fighting.
It also wanted to help countries that were in trouble.
