Maharashtra Board Class 6 English The Worth of a Fabric

Chapter Summary :-

The story is about Thiruvalluvar, a great Tamil Saint-poet who lived more than two thousand years ago. Thiruvalluvar was a textile weaver who sold beautiful fabrics and saris in the market. A rich young man in the town wanted to make him angry and picked up a fabric from his shop. He tore the fabric into pieces and asked the price after each tear, but Thiruvalluvar remained calm and reduced the price every time. When the fabric was reduced to rags, Thiruvalluvar refused to name a price and explained to the young man how many people had worked hard to make the fabric. The young man realized his mistake and decided to give up his bad habits.
