The whole numbers are the counting numbers including zero. They are a part of real numbers that do not include fractions, decimals, or negative numbers. Counting numbers are also considered as whole numbers.

The set of whole numbers is denoted by the symbol W: W = {0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, …}

The smallest whole number is 0. The first 100 whole numbers are 0 to 99.

What is a whole number?
A whole number is any number that’s not a fraction or a decimal. These numbers are a subset of the integers, and they’re used to count things. Here are some examples of whole numbers: 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, and so on.

 

Which is the smallest whole number?
The smallest whole number is zero! The number zero is considered a whole number because it doesn’t have any fractional or decimal parts. It’s the starting point for all whole numbers.
