  • There are many substances that are soluble in water Water is a universal solvent. It is used as a solvent in factories, laboratories, foods, and in various biological processes such as digestion, excretion, etc.
  • The use of water for cleaning purposes, such as bathing and washing clothes, is common.

Different Uses of soils are:-

  • For the purpose of growing plants
  • Because soil holds water, we can use it throughout the year by building bunds and lakes
  • Due to its plasticity, soil can be shaped in any way. Because of this, we can use it to create many different types of articles. These articles can be baked to make them hard Water storage earthen pots, earthen lamps, idols, bricks, etc.

Some useful types of soil

  • China clay is used to make crockery, bathroom tiles, tanks, laboratory apparatus, masks, jars, etc.
  • Shadu soil is white in color, and is used to make statues and idols
  • Terracotta soil: This soil is red in color. It is used to make decorative articles and pots for growing plants.
  • The Multani soil is used in cosmetics

When water freezes to become ice, it becomes lighter than the original liquid, so when it becomes solid, its volume increases, which is why ice’s density is less than water’s due to which it floats on water.
