Describe Continents?

The continents cover 29 percent of the earth’s surface. There are seven continents on the planet. Asia, Africa, North America, South America, Antarctica, Europe, and Australia. Each continent has a different landform and every continent is surrounded by an ocean. The largest continent is Asia. The smallest continent is Australia. 

 

Write a note about the largest continent on Earth. 

One-third of the Earth’s land surface is occupied by Asia, the largest continent. It is surrounded by oceans on three sides: the Arctic Ocean to the north, the Pacific Ocean to the east, and the Indian Ocean to the south. There are a variety of landforms on the continent. Mount Everest, the world’s highest peak, and the Dead Sea, the lowest point on earth, are located there. 

 

What is an ocean? 

Oceans are large bodies of water that flow continuously. Their size is vast, and they surround the continents. 

 

In order of smallest to largest, list all the continents of the world. 

Ans Australia, Europe, Antarctica, South America, North America, Africa, and Asia. 

 

List the world’s longest and largest rivers. 

The Amazon River is the world’s largest river. The Nile is the world’s longest river. 

 

List all the oceans in the world. 

Ans There are five oceans in the world. They are the Pacific Ocean, Atlantic Ocean, Indian Ocean, Arctic Ocean, and the Southern Ocean. 

 

What is the white continent and why is it called that? 

Due to its thick layer of permanent ice, Antarctica is called the white continent or the frozen continent. It is the coldest continent on earth.
