How do you classify plants?

Plants can be classified into 5 groups:-

  • Herbs are plants with green, tender stems. They are usually short and do not have a lot of branches.
  • Some plants develop branches near the base of the stem. The stem is hard but
  • not very thick. Such plants are called shrubs
  • Some plants grow to be very tall, with hard and thick stems. The stems have branches in the upper part, which is much higher than the ground are called Trees.
  • Plants with weak stems that cannot stand upright but spread on the ground are called creepers, whereas climbers take to support and climb up.
