[Q] Who visited the shepherd one day, and why?
[A] A disguised traveler visited the shepherd. He was the country’s king. He wanted to meet the shepherd personally because of his wisdom.

[Q] Why did the other governors grow jealous of the shepherd?
[A] Because of his rising fame, wisdom, and people’s love and respect, the other governors grew jealous of the shepherd. His success and reputation as a fair and wise governor made them jealous.

[Q] Why was the new governor called to the palace?
[A] The new governor was called to the palace after jealous governors accused the shepherd of dishonesty and retaining tax money for himself. The king also wondered why the shepherd carried an iron chest.

[Q] Why was everyone delighted to see the iron chest on the camel’s back?
[A] Everyone was delighted to see the iron chest on the camel’s back because they believed it would finally expose the shepherd’s alleged dishonesty and secret wealth. The jealous governors eagerly anticipated the chest being opened to reveal the truth.

[Q] What did the iron chest contain?
[A] When the iron chest was opened, it contained only an old blanket, which surprised everyone. There was no gold, silver, or jewels inside.

[Q] Why did the shepherd always carry it?
[A] He always carried the old blanket with him because it held sentimental value. He considered it his oldest friend and believed it would still protect him if the king ever decided to take away his new cloaks or if he faced any adversity.

[Q] Is it an example of the shepherd’s humility or wisdom or both?
[A] The shepherd carrying the old blanket as his only treasure is an example of both his humility and wisdom. His humility is reflected in valuing a simple possession and not being attached to material wealth. His wisdom is shown in recognizing the impermanence of external possessions and finding comfort and security in something of sentimental value.

[Q] How did the king reward the new governor?
[A] The king rewarded the new governor by promoting him to the position of governor of a much larger district, recognizing and appreciating his wisdom, humility, and ability to govern justly.
