Pollution can be classified into four main types:
- Air Pollution,
- Water Pollution,
- Noise Pollution
- Soil Pollution.
[Q] Define air pollution and its causes?
A mixture of harmful gases and other particles in the air is called air pollution. Air pollution harms the plants due to the presence of pollutants in the air, most plants are unable to prepare food properly. The plants grow slowly as a result. They slowly lose strength and eventually die.
CAUSE OF AIR POLLUTION
- Natural sources of air pollution include sandstorms, forest fires, and pollen from plants and flowers.
- In contrast, air pollution caused by human activities includes smoke from factories, smoke from vehicles, etc.

Pollution of water occurs due to human activities like the disposal of household and sewage waste, the leakage of oil tanks, and waste containing harmful chemicals.
EFFECTS OF WATER POLLUTION
Plants and animals that live in water are affected by pollution. These animals become weak and die slowly. The presence of pollutants in the water prevents plants from preparing food and retards their growth. When animals consume this polluted water, they become sick.
Two factors contribute to water pollution:
Man-made and Natural factors
Natural factors are: – storms can dissolve soil and other particles into water, making the water polluted.
