[a] While working with a computer we can read the information stored in its memory and perform other actions in …………… memory.

[b] While presenting pictures and videos about the works of scientists, we can use …………..

[c] To draw graphs based on the quantitative information obtained in an experiment, one uses …..

[d] The first generation computers used to shut down because of …….

[e] A computer will not work unless …. is supplied to it.

Solutions:-

[a] While working with a computer, we can read the information stored in its memory and perform other actions in RAM memory. (Justification: RAM, or Random Access Memory, is the volatile memory in a computer that allows for quick read and write operations. It is used for actively running programs and temporarily storing data.)

[b] While presenting pictures and videos about the works of scientists, we can use multimedia software. (Justification: Multimedia software is designed to handle a variety of media types, including pictures and videos. It allows for the creation and presentation of multimedia content.)

[c] To draw graphs based on the quantitative information obtained in an experiment, one uses graphing software. (Justification: Graphing software is specifically designed for creating graphs and visual representations of data, making it suitable for drawing graphs based on quantitative information.)

[d] The first-generation computers used to shut down because of heat generated by the large valves. (Justification: First-generation computers, such as the ENIAC, used vacuum tubes or valves in their construction. These valves were large, consumed a lot of electricity, and generated significant heat, leading to shutdowns.)

[e] A computer will not work unless electricity is supplied to it. (Justification: Computers, being electronic devices, require a continuous supply of electricity to function. )

Class 9 Science Information Communication Technology Important Notes

Information Communication Technology (ICT):

Definition: ICT includes communication devices, their use, and associated services. The rapid growth of information necessitates attention to prevent knowledge obsolescence.

Devices in ICT:

Examples: Telephone for conversation, computers in various generations.

Evolution: Computers progressed through five generations, with the first generation (1946-1959) using valves and large size.

Important Components of a Computer:

Memory:

Two types: Internal (RAM and ROM) and External.

RAM is volatile and electronic, while ROM is read-only.

Operating System:
