1. A book has 50 pages. Mohit crosses out 4 odd-numbered pages and 5 even numbered pages. How many even-numbered pages are not crossed out?

(A) 9

(B) 20

(C) 21

(D) 39

Explanation:-

If a book has 50 pages, means in that book half means [50/2 = 25] odd number pages and half means [50/2 = 25] even numbered pages.

Mohit crossed 4 odd numbered pages means 25-4 = 21

And 5 even numbered pages means 25-5 = 20

So 20 even numbered pages are not crossed out. Then the correct answer is B.

2. Organize these numbers from the greatest to the smallest:

3. If 21 + 22 + 23 + 24 + 25 is equal to 115, which of the following has the same value as 31 + 32 + 33 + 34 + 35?

(A) 115 + 5

(B) 115 + 25

(C) 115 + 30

(D) 115 + 50

Explanation:-

if we add …… 31 + 32 + 33 + 34 + 35 = 165, we got 165. , now we have to find the option with 165 as answer.

A option 115+5 = 120 [false]   , B option 115 +25 = 140 also false, C option 115 + 30 = 145 also false D option 115+50 = 165 is the correct answer.

4. Akash usually takes 40 minutes to travel to school by bus. If akash misses the bus, it will take another 20 minutes for the next bus to come. If akash misses the bus at 8 a.m., what is the earliest time akash can reach his school?

(A)9:00 a.m.

(B) 8:50 a.m.

(C) 9:10 a.m.

(D) 8:40 a.m.

Explanation :-

Time taken by akash to travel to school is 40 min

He missed the bus at 8 A.M.  And next bus will come after 20 minutes  that means the next bus will come in 8.20 a.m. Travelling time is 40 min.

If we add 40 min to 8.20 ,we get 8.60 min , as we know that 60 min = 1 hour ,so the time he reaches to school is 9.00 a.m.

Correct answer is A 9.00 a.m.

5. Sonia had ` 216. Sonia had twice as much money as her sister. How much money did they have altogether?

(A) Rs. 624

(B) Rs. 324

(C) Rs. 648

(D) Rs. 650

Explanation:-

Sonia had 216 rs. and twice as compared to her sister means her sister has 216/2 = 108 Rs. ,if we add both amount 216+108 we get 324 , so the option B is the correct answer.

6. When Mohit finished his homework, his watch showed that the time was 1:20 p.m. The watch was 15 minutes fast. Mohit took 1 hour 45 minutes to complete his homework. What was the actual time that he started doing his homework?
